Europeans is over. We did have som really good moments, good speed but did some massive looses on the tactics. It was tricky and we just couldn’t find the rhythm this time, ad a port-starbord protest which ended in a lesson for life and we finished up as first boat in Bronze fleet. Same points as the last four boats in the silver fleet after qualification made it even tougher.
However, we look forward to go home to Sweden after a few months with mostly travel. There will be 49er sailing in Sweden, a RC44 event in Sweden and some coaching before next event which is Youth Worlds in Flennsburg, Germany. We will be back with full power, ready to send it!
Instead of going to an office last Monday morning, we took the car and trailer down to Oporto in Portugal (over 3200km). Joining the the other 49er sailors to prepare for the European Championship. We have settle and done a … Continue reading →
We end our training period in Palma by sailing the practice regatta governed by the local club l’arenal.
After lots of focus on speed and rigg setup the last week we finally feel that the work is paying off. We finished 13 with 37 boats.
The team is going home for a few days in school before next event.
We drove for almost 48hours (included a ferry overnight in a chair from Barcelona to Mallorca) to reach the beach in l’arenal. It’s the third time here, and it’s starts to feel like home. We normally spends 4-5 weeks here every year.
This time we are going to stay for 2 weeks, it will be intense sailing combined with physical training. The goal is to trim the boat for more speed and to success we have brought our fastest boat. We will finish the sailing period with a training regatta.
We manage to find a nice apartment close to the beach, lucky it’s “off-season” priced.
It’s been a week with big breeze, which wasn’t something you expect in Miami. After 3 months away from the 49er, the team struggled in the beginning. – We didn’t fin the flow in the boat, giving us a disadvantage … Continue reading →
We have finally completed our exams for this time and took the first best flight to Miami, to start up the sailing season. It’s the second time we here in Miami with the 49er. After 4 days in the america we have already done 4 sailing sessions, thrilled by the perfect conditions, we are going to a lot more before the world cup start up with first raceday on February 26th.
Miami is the best place to start up the season, with warm weather and varied conditions as you can see on todays light winds session. The skyline is pretty awesome!
This time we have our coach Björn with us, make our preparation even better and help us improve a lot.
Our 49er is now on it’s way to Miami, it will take around 4 weeks for the ship to cross the ocean. The team will wait a few more weeks before boarding the flight to the best sailing venue during … Continue reading →
